The John R. Rodman Arboretum was established in 1984 by Dr. John R. Rodman, Professor of Environmental Studies, in order to preserve indigenous plant species on Pitzer’s property. There are a total of sixteen gardens on ten acres of land.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 7 p.m. in Hahn 101, the EA seniors will present their team-based, client-driven projects; the session is free and open to one and all! The list of clients this year include the City of Claremont (on greenhouse gas emissions and streetlight retrofits); Santa Ana Waterkeepers (river water quality); Scripps college (composting system); Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden (year two of sustainability analyses); and Uncommon Good (a food assessment survey for it and Regenerative Pomona).
